Weekly Message: May 1st

  Hello Kindergarten parents, We had a busy week preparing for our assembly.  The children did a great job refining their "characters" movements, speaking loudly and clearly and working as team.  The children all pitched in to help paint our submarine and boat as well as parts for our ocean mural in the front hall.  Each student worked to make an unique fish.  We had fun looking at their differing attributes and using comparative language.  ie.  This fish is mostly blue,  but  that one has many colours."  I am so proud of the hard work the children put into our Ocean Environments unit.  We had a great conversation about the growth that took place doing our performance.  We talked a lot about resiliency and how doing something new and a little scary, like a first assembly performance, had us step out of our comfort zone.  We all learned that even if it felt scary, we handled it, and did a great job.
